The historical center
1.     Hill of St. Justus with the homonymous Roman cathedral, the gothic rose window and, inside, the venetian mosaics, frescos with the St. Justus’s history and the cathedral treasure; view of the castle from 1470 and the lapidary rich in finds of Aquileia.
2.     Old town: walking down from the hill of S. Justus in Cavana, stopping at the Arco di Riccardo, churches of St. Mary Major and St. Silvestro , the Tor Cucherna and under the Torre Donota, the rests of a roman house.
3.     Rive (shores) with beautiful neoclassical buildings.
4.     Area Canal Grande joined by nineteenth-century buildings and the Serbian-orthodox church of St. Spiridione
5.     The square Piazza Unità d’Italia, for its extension the second square on the sea in Europe surrounded by large buildings.
6.     The square Piazza della Borsa with the sober Casa Bartoli.
7.     The theatre Teatro Verdi surrounded by buildings built at time of the greatest economic expansion of the city.
8.     Roman theatre unearthed in the ’30 and raised making havoc of the alleys of the old town and the Jewish ghetto.
9.     The square Piazza Goldoni, the heart of modern Trieste; Scala dei Giganti (Giant Staircase) leading to St. Justus.
10.  The square Piazza Oberdan, fascist microcosm with the chapel in memory of the irredentist; along Via Carducci stop to admire the harmonious neoclassical facade of House Rosenkart and fantasies liberty of house Mordo; Hotel Balkan masterpiece of Max Fabiani, burned by fascists in 1920.
